APC Smart-UPS SMT3000IC is a 3000 VA/2700 W tower UPS for servers, network equipment, storage systems and other compatible IT devices. It provides a battery-backed power source for short interruptions and supports an orderly shutdown when the outage continues. The tower enclosure suits floor-standing or equipment-room installations rather than a rack-mounted layout.
Power and control
- Rated capacity: 3000 VA and 2700 W. Both limits apply to the total connected load.
- Line-interactive topology with automatic voltage regulation (AVR) and pure sine-wave output.
- Nominal 230 V input and output; output can be configured for 220, 230 or 240 V.
- Typical transfer time: 6 ms; maximum: 10 ms.
- LCD for operating status, load and battery information; USB and RJ45 serial communication.
- SmartConnect Ethernet port, one SmartSlot for an optional Network Management Card, and an emergency power-off connection.
- Dimensions (H × W × D): 435 × 197 × 544 mm. Net weight: 52.5 kg.
Connections and supplied cables
The UPS has an IEC C20 input and nine output sockets: eight IEC C13 and one IEC C19. Check the plug type and power rating of each device before connecting it. The standard cable set includes Schuko and British input cables, two IEC jumper cables and a USB cable. The two jumper cables are accessories, not additional output sockets. Network management through SmartSlot requires a separate compatible card. SmartConnect service features depend on connectivity and the applicable service plan.
Included battery and maintenance
A maintenance-free sealed lead-acid battery is included. The user-replaceable battery cartridge is APC RBC55, allowing the battery to be renewed without replacing the UPS. Typical recharge time is approximately three hours. Install the UPS in a ventilated indoor location within its 0–40 °C operating range.
Sizing and backup-time limits
Backup time is not a fixed number: it depends on load, battery age, state of charge and temperature. Leave power headroom for equipment start-up and future additions. Use the LCD and suitable monitoring software to plan shutdown before the battery is exhausted. This is a short-term backup device, not a promise of uninterrupted operation for the entire duration of an outage.
