Rack power backup for servers and IT equipment
The APC Smart-UPS C SMC3000RMI2U brings battery backup to compatible servers, storage devices and networking equipment in a 2U rackmount format. Its rated capacity is 3000 VA / 2100 W, with nominal 230 V input and output. This makes it a practical option for a shared equipment rack where several devices need a common backup power source.
Line-interactive operation and local monitoring
Automatic voltage regulation (AVR) corrects voltage fluctuations within its operating range, helping reduce unnecessary battery use. The UPS supplies a pure sine-wave output. A front graphic LCD makes operating information accessible at the rack, while USB and serial interfaces provide a local communication connection to compatible equipment and software. Input frequency is automatically detected at 50/60 Hz.
Connections and battery
- Power input: IEC 320 C20.
- Equipment outlets: eight IEC 320 C13 and one IEC 320 C19.
- Supplied connection cables: two IEC jumper cables.
- Battery: included, maintenance-free sealed lead-acid, user-replaceable.
- Replacement battery cartridge: APCRBC151.
Check your equipment’s IEC connectors and cable current ratings before installation. The total load must remain within both the 3000 VA and 2100 W ratings; individual outlet and cable limits also apply. Allow capacity for equipment start-up and any planned additions.
Plan the rack installation
The enclosure measures 89 × 480 × 670 mm (H × W × D) and weighs 41 kg with the battery. Check cabinet depth, load capacity, ventilation and rear cable clearance before fitting it. The specified operating temperature is 0–40 °C.
Backup time varies with the connected load, battery charge, battery condition and temperature. Choose the load with your required shutdown or short-outage bridging time in mind; the maximum power rating does not specify a fixed runtime.
