Data and power over one network cable
The TP-Link TL-SG1210MPE is a Gigabit Easy Smart switch for small offices, shops, surveillance systems and other local networks. Connect computers, printers and network equipment, while eight PoE+ ports can also power compatible IP cameras, wireless access points and IP phones. Carrying data and power over a single Ethernet cable helps simplify installation and device placement.
10 simultaneous ports with a shared SFP connection
The switch has 10 physical RJ45 connectors and one Gigabit SFP slot. RJ45 port 10 and the SFP slot form a single combo port: only one connector in that pair can be used at a time. This provides nine separate RJ45 connections plus a choice of RJ45 or SFP for the tenth connection, for a total of 10 simultaneously usable network ports. A suitable Gigabit SFP module enables an optical link.
PoE+ and practical network management
- RJ45 ports 1–8 support IEEE 802.3af/at PoE+, with up to 30 W output per port.
- The total rated PoE budget is up to 123 W. Account for the combined demand of all powered devices when planning the network.
- A local web interface and the Easy Smart Configuration Utility for Windows provide configuration and monitoring tools.
- VLAN supports network separation, while port-based, 802.1p and DSCP QoS help prioritize different types of traffic.
- IGMP Snooping, port mirroring, cable diagnostics and loop prevention support everyday network maintenance.
- PoE Auto Recovery can restart an unresponsive powered device. The fanless design provides quiet operation.
Key specifications
- RJ45 link speeds: 10/100/1000 Mbps, with auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX.
- Switching capacity: 20 Gbps.
- Packet forwarding rate: 14.88 million packets per second.
- MAC address table: 4,000 entries; jumbo frames: up to 16 KB.
- Up to 32 simultaneous VLANs and four QoS priority queues.
- Dimensions: 209 × 126 × 26 mm.
Compatibility and package contents
Standard Ethernet devices can use the data connection; powered devices must support IEEE 802.3af or IEEE 802.3at for PoE operation. Configuration uses Easy Smart tools; Omada SDN controller adoption is not an advertised feature of this model. The manufacturer’s package list includes the switch, power adapter, installation guide and rubber feet. Select the SFP module, Ethernet cables and optical cabling separately.
The combined PoE demand must remain within 123 W, so all eight ports cannot deliver 30 W simultaneously. Actual available PoE power depends on the connected devices and operating conditions.
Warranty: 6 months.
