The TP-Link LS1008G expands a wired network when a router runs out of ports for computers, a television, a network printer or storage. Eight Gigabit Ethernet ports connect additional devices without management software or complicated configuration.
Auto-negotiation selects a compatible link speed, while Auto MDI/MDIX removes the need to choose between straight-through and crossover Ethernet cables. Its fanless design is suitable for a desk-side installation. Energy-saving technology adjusts power use according to link status and cable length.

Important limitations
No PoE power output, Wi-Fi radio or router functions. Internet access depends on the connected router and service provider. The 16 Gbps figure is aggregate internal switching capacity, not the speed of one port or an internet connection.
